"Information security relies on individuals with strong digital forensics skills. Quality educational programs, such as those developed by the Advanced Cyberforensics Education Consortium, are critical to developing the next generation of competent information security professionals."

W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, CNSS
Executive Director
(ISC)2

Cyberforensics is a new science based on the application of scientific and engineering principles to the identification, verification, and examination of digital evidence. The Advanced Cyberforensics Education Consortium is a partnership between state and community colleges in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina whose mission is to grow cyberforensics programs throughout the southeast and administered at Daytona State College, a designated National Center of Digital Forensics Academic Excellence by the Defense Cyber Crime Center Academic Cyber Curriculum Alliance.

Our multithreaded approach includes:

  • Faculty training;
  • Creating and distributing comprehensive course materials;
  • Working with K-12 schools to implement cyberforensics and cyberforensics programs;
  • Serving as a catalyst for workforce development.
